I acquired a STM32F072B-DISCO to evaluate the STM32F0x2 family.

Despite the photos on ST's web site showing a crystal, the STM32F0x2 target doesn't have one (consistent with the part's ostensive capability to operate USB without one).

The pre-programmed application boots on reset into an epileptic-fit-inducing LED blinker mode. Pressing the USER button toggles through other modes that light the LED corresponding to the direction the board is tilted or emulate a HID mouse where the cursor tracks rotation of the board.


Over a weekend, I used the board to write open-source CMSIS-DAP implementation called "Dapper Mime".
